At Covenant Christian School, it is our desire to provide every student with an opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports and physical activity.

As well as supporting students in exploring, developing and using their God-given gifts and abilities, we hope to nurture a lifelong love of sport, and an appreciation of the benefits it offers.

Covenant has a range of sports facilities to enable students to enjoy physical activity in a safe and supportive environment. From large grassed areas, playing fields and hard courts, to a fully sprung gymnasium floor, students of all ages and stages are well catered for.

Whenever our students participate in sport, we encourage them to do it all in a way that honours and glorifies God. Physical education is part of the curriculum, and while students develop their skills and build fitness, they also learn valuable lessons about participation, commitment, responsibility and teamwork.

Our students have a number of sporting opportunities at Covenant:

Carnivals

Carnivals provide a wonderful opportunity for participation and competition, whilst promoting good sportsmanship and house spirit.

Swimming and Athletics Carnivals are held separately for Junior and Secondary School. The Cross Country Carnival is a combined event for the entire school.

Elite Level Competition

Covenant is a member of the Christian Schools Sports Association (CSSA), a state-based association that encompasses over 80 schools. Students who place at swimming, athletics and cross country events will go onto represent Covenant at the CSSA North Met Zone and possibly State level.

As a member of Combined Independent Schools (CIS), Covenant students have the opportunity to be selected in State and National sporting teams. Students who achieve high placings at a CSSA State Carnival go on to compete at CIS level. Students are also able to trial for select CIS teams directly, such as baseball, cricket, tennis, waterpolo, football, volleyball, rugby 7s, AFL, rugby league and gymnastics.
